What We Believe

The convictions that anchor our community.

Our beliefs are simple, scriptural, and shared with the wider RCCG family.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness — that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

2 Timothy 3:16–17

Our Statement of Faith

What follows is what Voice of Jesus believes — drawn directly from scripture and held in common with the wider Redeemed Christian Church of God family.

01

One God

There is one God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit — who subsist in three separate, distinct Persons.

Scripture

1 John 5:7; John 14:7–16; Deuteronomy 6:4; Genesis 1:1, 1:26–27, 3:2; Isaiah 40:28; Matthew 28:19; Psalm 40:2; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

02

Jesus Christ, God’s Son

Jesus Christ is God’s Son, the Second Person of the Trinity. He was born of a virgin as both God and man, lived a sinless life, died to atone for the sins of human beings, was buried, rose from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will literally return to earth. He ever makes intercession for us and is our advocate.

Scripture

Matthew 1:22–23; Isaiah 9:6; 53:5–6; John 1:1–5; 14:10–30; Hebrews 4:14–15; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Romans 1:3–4; Acts 1:9–11; 1 Timothy 6:14–15; Titus 2:13; Romans 8:34; 1 John 2:1–2

03

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Triune God — our divine Helper, Advocate, Counselor, Comforter, Teacher, Intercessor, Strengthener, director and Standby. His work is to reveal Jesus Christ, convict of sin, guide believers, comfort, strengthen and sanctify the soul.

Scripture

2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7–13; 14:16–17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; 5:18; Galatians 5:25

04

The Bible

The Bible is God’s holy Word — the inerrant, infallible, and sole authority for life. It contains thirty-nine books in the Old Testament and twenty-seven in the New, sixty-six in total. The Voice of Jesus is in the Word of God.

Scripture

Psalm 119:105; Romans 15:4; 2 Peter 1:20–21; 2 Timothy 3:16

05

Created Man’s Need For God

Human beings are the special creation of God, made in His image. Through the sin of the first man, Adam, all human beings became sinners in need of salvation.

Scripture

Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3–6; Isaiah 53:6; 59:1–2; Romans 3:23

06

Salvation

Salvation is a gift, received through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. Every truly saved person is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus and will spend eternity in heaven; those who die in their sins will spend eternity in hell. The one who endures to the end will be saved.

Scripture

Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8–9; John 14:6; 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1; Matthew 24:12–13; 7:21–23

07

Water Baptism

Baptism is by immersion after salvation, in obedience to Christ’s command. It is the outward symbol of an inward reality — genuine conversion — and an identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord. We do not baptize infants, who cannot make this commitment, but we dedicate infants and children.

Scripture

Matthew 3:15–17; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3–8; Matthew 3:13–15; 1 Peter 2:21

08

Baptism With The Holy Spirit

The regenerating work of the Holy Spirit is different from His work of baptism. In regeneration there is impartation of the divine life of God. The Holy Spirit baptism empowers believers for effective Christian service, with an immediate outward sign at Pentecost and afterward.

Scripture

2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 8:10–11; 6:18, 22; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4–5, 8; 2:4; 10:44–46; 19:6; Galatians 4:22–26; 5:22–26

09

Believer’s Access To God

Each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head.

Scripture

Matthew 16:18; Acts 20:27–29; 1 Corinthians 12:27–29; Ephesians 1:21–23; 3:20–21; 4:1–3; 5:21–27; Colossians 1:17–19

10

The Church

The Church is a local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head.

Scripture

Matthew 16:18; Acts 20:27–29; 1 Corinthians 12:27–29; Ephesians 1:21–23; 3:20–21; 4:1–3; 5:21–27; Colossians 1:17–19

11

Miracles and Divine Healing in Jesus’ Name

We believe in miracles and divine healing in the name of Jesus. Our Lord died and rose again to guarantee us perfect redemption — and part of that package is health and power over sickness and disease.

Scripture

1 John 2; Isaiah 53:4–5; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24; Luke 9:1–2

12

Deliverance From Curses and Satanic Strongholds

Deliverance is setting free, expelling demons, breaking yokes, removing curses, loosing bonds, and nullifying the effects of occult involvement. Methods include praising God, using the Word, anointing oil, the name of Jesus, fasting and prayer, the blood of Jesus, and Holy Spirit guidance.

Scripture

John 8:32; Isaiah 10:27; Ezekiel 34:27; Acts 3:6; 1 Peter 1:18–19; Hebrews 2:14; Mark 9:29; Luke 4:40–41; 1 Samuel 16:23

13

The Second Coming of Christ

The second coming of Jesus Christ will be in physical form, visible to all, just as He was seen ascending. His return will be in two stages — first in the sky to receive His saints, then to the earth to judge the ungodly.

Scripture

Acts 1:9–11; John 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:15–17; 1 Corinthians 15:51–52; Matthew 24:40–44; 25:10; Revelation 19:19–21; 2 Thessalonians 1:7–10; Jude 14–15; Zechariah 14:3–4

14

The Tribulation Period

The time between Christ’s coming for His bride and His coming to administer judgment will be the time of Tribulation.

Scripture

Matthew 24:21; 22:29; Revelation 16; Isaiah 26:20–21; Mark 13:19; Jeremiah 30:7; Daniel 12:1; Malachi 4:1

15

The Millennial Reign

After Christ appears upon earth, He will set up His kingdom with His holy people for one thousand years — a kingdom unlike any earthly one: peace everywhere, no death, no poverty, with Christ as the only King.

Scripture

Revelation 20:1–6; 2:26–27; Isaiah 65:18–20, 21–23; Micah 4:4; Daniel 2:44–45; 7:13–14, 22, 27

16

The Coming Judgements

There will be three special judgments — the judgment of believers immediately after the rapture; the judgment of the nations when Jesus appears on earth between the millennial reign and final judgment; and the great white throne judgment of unbelievers after Christ’s thousand-year reign.

Scripture

2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Corinthians 3:11–15; James 1:12; Romans 2:16; Acts 17:31; Joel 3:2; Ezekiel 14:15; Jude 14–15; 2 Thessalonians 1:7–10; Revelation 1:7; 20:11–15; 2 Peter 3:7; Daniel 12:2

17

New Heaven and New Earth

After judgment, this wicked world will be removed. God will create a new heaven and a new earth in which holiness will dwell.

Scripture

Matthew 24:35; 2 Peter 3:12–13; Revelation 21:1–3; Isaiah 65:17; 66:22

18

Eternal Life and Eternal Punishment

The Bible teaches both eternal life and eternal punishment. The wicked will be sent to a fiery hell to be tormented day and night, forever; the righteous will live eternally in the presence of God.

Scripture

Matthew 25:46; Revelation 14:10–11; Luke 16:24; Mark 9:43–44

19

Dedication of Children

After a child is born, on the eighth day the parents should bring him or her to the house of the Lord for dedication.

Scripture

1 Samuel 1:22; Luke 2:22–24; Matthew 19:13–15
